Directions:
Read "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" by Bill Martin Jr and John Archambault. Prepare a bulletin board or a wall with a "Cococut tree" on it. Using the Self Stick Foam Letters or die cut letters have the children act out this story. One child will hold the letter A (putting it on a craft stick can help), one child will hold the letter B and so on. The children will bring the letters up the coconut tree & then they will all crash to the ground. This can be repeated many, many times. When you are done acting it out, the alphabet can then be actually stapled to the bulletin board. This is so much fun! It is a terrific way for preschoolers to first grade to learn and practice the alphabet.
Extension: When using the die cut letters, children enjoy coloring them like Lois Ehlert using Dot Art markers.
