Ingredients:
1 Gingerbread Man Book
1 Gingerbread cake mix plus ingredients
1 Gingerbread Man Cake Pan
1 Construct Paper Gingerbread Men
1 scissors
1 black marker
1 roll of tape
1 oven
Directions:

1"Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!"
Grade Level: Preschool to First Grade
Objective: Learn the different parts of the school. Measuring when the children are cooking. Small motor skills when coloring.
Directions:
Beforehand:
1.Get the ingredients for a Gingerbread cake. Get a cake pan shaped like a Gingerbread.
2.Cut out the shape of Gingerbread Man on many pieces of paper. Write: "Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man! I'm in the _______" on the gingerbread man paper. (This can also be a hint that they have to figure out where he is.) Put them around the school. The first one needs to be by the oven. The last one will send them back to the room.
During the lesson:
1. Read the book Gingerbread Man.
2. As a class, make a Gingerbread Man cake. Put him in the oven.
3. Ask someone to remove him and hide it. Go check on him. "Discover" that he is missing and he left a note. Go chase him! Point out all the places of the school.
4. Point out all the places of the school.
5. Ask someone to put the cake in your room.
6. Eat the cake.

Extension:
There are worksheets and mini gingerbread man books the kids can color or read.
